About Us
Here at Opoma Farms our focus is on raising the healthiest and most nutrient dense products possible through regenerative agriculture and managed intensive grazing . We specialize in 100% grass fed Red Devon beef as well as pasture raised and organically fed Chickens.
Why Regenerative Agriculture and Managed intensive Grazing:
Most of the environmental problems associated with grazing livestock are due to the continuous presence of livestock in a particular location. Once livestock are brought under control and their activities become regulated, almost all types of environmental degradation are reduced or eliminated, including the sequestering of Carbon back into our soils. In other words our cattle do not eat the pasture into a desert and receive the highest quality grass our pasture can provide as they are continuously rotated onto new paddocks daily.
There are several indications that well-managed pasture will provide many benefits; herd health, air quality (reduced green house gas emissions), Water quality, wildlife habitat and food systems. It is proven that it reduces the incidence of disease and also minimizes the need for antibiotics in the herd.
