About Us

On the Picton bluff towering over the harbor, The English Rose is the stateliest building in town, and one of the first three grand residences to be built on Main Street. Known historically as the Sills/Hepburn House CIRCA 1859, it is widely recognized for its grandeur, grey rubble stone finish and majestic rooftop lantern. This is a building that you need pass only once and you will remember it for the rest of your life. In 157 years, this exclusive residence has passed between only 4 families, and just like Prince Edward County wine, it has only gotten better with age. Impressive features of this 4,200 +/- sq. ft. building include newly renovated bedrooms, 12 ft. ceilings, gracious living spaces with original features, hardwood floors, 2 fireplaces, formal dining room, sun rooms and more. The yard is maturely treed with some of the oldest and imposing trees in the town of Picton. All the gardens have been redone and are absolutely breathtaking. This is a prime location providing southern vista views of the scenic Picton harbor, below the bluff. The English Rose B&B is a unique getaway in one of Ontario’s most popular vacation, boating and retirement destinations. We look forward to meeting you!
