A History of Giving Back:
It's so easy to take what we have for granted, smelling roses as we walk through a park or the simple pleasure of reading a book. The Canadian National Institute for the Blind boasts a library of braille and talking books that in the year 2000, was showcased in the August 2000 Belleville Intelligencer newspaper. The importance of this library is showcased by Byron Chappelle, pictured on the far right. Byron who was very thankful for the ability to continue reading was quoted saying at the time "I'm grateful for the service. It's like coming out of the darkness into the light" And Byron wasn't the only happy regular attendee to the CNIB library, from left to right are Terry Wright, Joanne Wright and Byron Chappelle. We thank the CNIB in all that they have done to creating a caring community.
As our 2018 campaign approaches we will be sharing photos and stories from our archives regularly on social media, demonstrating our communities long-standing efforts to Improve Lives Locally.
